Most small animal general practices offer dental cleanings and routine dental care. However, there is a fair amount of variation between clinics in regard to the care provided, the importance of individual parts of the dental cleaning, and the value of veterinary technicians in this process. During this session, recommendations will be made on the steps involved in routine dental prophylaxis to assure consistent and proper dental cleanings, including which staff members should be involved and a brief description of their duties.
