Description

Young squabs developed bone deformities during a breeding trial. Failure to thrive chicks also occurred using a diet that had been used successfully with adults previously. Histopathology reveals rickets. When a new diet was implemented that was more nutritionally balanced, leg deformities and failure to thrive chicks no longer occurred.
