Hypocalcemic tetany was diagnosed in two commercial male turkeys between the ages of 15 to 18 weeks. The turkeys experienced sudden onset of inability to walk, shaky legs, not eating and increased mortality. Necropsy did not reveal any infectious diseases. Serum analysis revealed severe hypocalcemia. Supplementation of feed with oyster shells and vitamin D3 alleviated the situation.
