Verruconis gallopava (formerly Ochroconis / Dactylaria gallopava) was identified as the cause of granulomatous and necrotizing cerebellar encephalitis in 14 and 16-day-old commercial broiler chickens. In addition, several chicks displayed lameness, with tibiotarsal growth plate lesions consistent with rickets caused by a phosphorus deficiency.
