Description

Chicken astrovirus (CAstV) is a important viral agent related with the enteric diseases in chickens. In Brazil have been detected in recent outbreaks of runting-stunting syndrome (RSS). Chickens infected experimentally with CAstV isolated in Brazil showed signs of enteric disease and presence of enteritis, showing that CAstV produced enteric disease and is involved in the outbreaks of RSS in chickens in Brazil.
